“How to Switch Careers in 2025 - Expert Tips with Q&A” Webinar Review
This particular panel was a fascinating pick for me because it discusses how to search for a career. I am currently not searching for a career because I am already in one, however, I wanted to learn more because you never know what is going to happen. There could be a chance that I am not in this particular career field in five years, so I wanted to equip myself with knowledge regarding how to and where to look for a career. With the job market also being very scarce, especially for recently graduated students, I figured it was a good idea to learn more about job searching.

This webinar was hosted by Indeed and the panelists that were participating in the interview were Brighid Power, a Career Strategist at Indeed, Tobe Nneji, founder of ProjectYOU, Jenn Herrity, a Career Strategist at Indeed, and Katie Greene, a Career Advisor at SNHU. The section of the webinar that stood out to me the most was the section where the panelists discussed networking. Jenn Herrity discussed how the process of networking is like playing the long game. She discussed how, while yes, intentional conversations matter, networking is all about the long term relationships that you build. She recommended to be authentic, this further allows the person you are networking with to connect with you in more personal ways.
I found this information to be very helpful because networking is one of the main ways someone grows connections and receives their desired role in the workplace that I am in right now. I would say that I am really good at being intentional when it comes to my conversations, but I have the tendency to want to “preform” or not be authentic while talking to connections out of fear or anxiety. After watching this panel webinar, I want to start building long term relationships within my career field.
